Dust Collection Bags

What is Dust Collection Bags?

Dust collector bags are generally used for collecting the mineral dust of industries. It is a part of an industrial air cleaning system with numerous benefits. It helps purify the air, improve efficiency, and ensure a safe working environment.

Dust collectors use long, cylindrical bags or tubes. It is made of a fabric that helps filter dust particles out of the airstream.

Dust Collection Bags are used across industries for a variety of applications. Dry filtration involves the separation of dry powder particles to be filtered from airflow.

Cement dust collection, metals and minerals, environmental protection, chemical, and other industries use dry filtration dust collector bags. Navkar Filtech provides custom-made filter bags for all types of filter fabrics using a wide range of dust collection filter fabrics and precision sewing machines.

Why Are There So Many Types of Dust Collection Bags?

With so many dust collectors in use in so many various industrial processes, the exact demands on dust collector bags for each process are bound to differ significantly. Filter bags used to collect grain dust at a food processing plant have very different performance requirements than steel foundry dust collector bags.

Even within the same industry, different system configurations may typically require dust collection solutions to meet a plant’s needs. A power generation plant might indeed require high efficiencies, whereas a chemical plant can sometimes require acid or alkali-resistant dust collector bags, such as those made from Ryton® Felt / PPS.

A cement manufacturer may have high airstream temperatures, necessitating a dust collector bag made of Nomex® or Conex® that can withstand higher operating temperatures.

Mechanism

The dirty air of the environment enters the dust collector and is directed to the filters. Polluted air then passes through the bags, and the dust is collected here. It is collected outside the filter while the clean air passes through it.

From another perspective, the bags thus help to separate the dry powder from the filtered airflow. Hence, the costly dry powder is collected in large quantities while keeping the safeguard of the environment in mind.

Characteristics of Our Filter Collector Bags

  • Our Bags are fabricated to order from various needle felt and woven fabrics.
  • Our wide range of felts in various weights and surface treatments, as well as our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities on the ground, enable us to provide you with the best solution for your specific application.
  • Most woven fabrics are used in gentle cleaning systems like reverse air or shaker systems.
  • Non-woven needle felt dust collection bags are used in cement production, flour mills, pigments, incinerators, pharmaceuticals, and asphalt due to their high particle retention and permeability.

Factors to consider while choosing the right filter media for Bag Filters

  • Particle size

  • Operating temperature of the bag house

  • Compatibility with gas stream chemistry, including:

    • Moisture levels

    • Acidity or alkalinity

  • Electrostatic nature of the particles

  • The abrasiveness of the particles

  • Air-to-cloth ratio

  • Fabric’s resistance to cleaning energy

  • Fabric’s permeability allows air to pass

  • Fabric’s flexibility to allow rippling or stretching

  • Fabric cost

Applications

  • Polypropylene dust collector bags are used in food industries, pesticide industries, fertilizer industries, sugar industries, etc
  • Acrylic dust collector bags are used in – power plants, coal mils, etc
  • Polyester bags are used in wood processing, pharmaceutical, etc.
  • PPS baghouses are used in waste burning industries, chemical industries etc.
